Awareness Raising on Electric Motors
The Energy Efficiency Management Office (EEMO) has developed a series of awareness-raising materials to sensitize the MSME and manufacturing sectors on the
selection and operation of energy-efficient electric motors.
Electric motors are widely used in the Manufacturing and MSME sectors since they are the primary equipment used to convert electricity into motive power. With
respect to large energy consumers, it is estimated that electric motors account for approximately 60% of total electricity consumption, corresponding to about 539 GWh.
This represents roughly 17% of electricity production in 2021 and is equivalent to 514 ktonnes of locally generated CO₂ emissions.
The attached e-brochures and videos provide operators with first-hand technical guidance on energy-efficient selection and usage. By applying these techniques,
organizations can significantly reduce energy consumption, lower utility bills, and boost overall productivity.
